SCI on EDK2378

I have loaded a program that shows to certain letters and numbers through SCI1, I have connected it to another PC through serial port 1 (COM 1). In the other PC I use the hyperterminal but the only show happy faces ☺☺☺☺ indefinitely...

Could you give a little more detail on the problem?

• where did you get the program you are using? Was it generated by HEW?
• are you using a development board or your own PCB target? Do you level shift the RS232?
• is the communication broken in both directions?
• Did you use the HW manual to set up the baud rate generator based on the system clock?
