QSK 30 P External Power
Up to The Basement Workshop
I've looked around, but cannot seem to locate any information on running the QSK as a standalone product; that is, with a separate power supply. (I still prefer data books to .PDF files.)
So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.
TIA,

The QSK comes with a schematic on the CD. All you really need to do is remove the USB's power and supply your own +5VDC. The USB power is fed through the E8 circuitry on the board to the 62P system. You could bypass this too if you wanted.
One other minor note: You need to make sure that your code does not have a monitor in it. The monitor is added by HEW when it programs your code into the target. In later versions of HEW, their is an option to Just program the flash with your project. That is what you need to do. (Otherwise a monitor is in the code waiting for the PC to get it going so the chip looks frozen.)
As Rob stated above, you just need to add 5 volts and ground to the header when the USB cable is not plugged in.
