ZigBee Network Operated Door
Up to The Basement Workshop
University Submission: The purpose of this project was to build an automation system to control a motorized deadbolt lock to be used for household door entry.
The design required three pieces to operate: a wireless receiver door unit, a wireless transmitter powered by a Linux server, and a software client that interfaces with the server. The wireless standard used was ZigBee, a board developed by Renesas that was connected to the linux server using a serial cable.
