R8C and M16C Development boards
From Mikrocontroller in Germany. They've got their own development boards with LCD modules and DIP adapters.
Check out this web link to what looks like a University project. There's an M16C running graphics on a small monochrome module. They also have an R8C solution.
These boards don't seem to have debugger connections. You'll also note that they appear to be designed for hand-assembly.
