Hi,
I have a problem with R8C/18 ID verification.
I program flash using asynchronious serial mode. During a first few programming attempts, the uC accepts each ID code I send following F5 command.
In other words, the uC status states that ID is verified even if I sent incorrect code!
After some time the uC doesn't accept any code although I'm sure that I send a correct one.
The situation is identical with 10 other chips I purchased.
This behaviour seems to me so strange that I decided to make a post.
Thanks,
Tom
An empty device does accept every ID code you send.
And as long as you don't switch the power supply for the device off, it will remember that the ID check has passed successfully and not do a new ID check.
Only a programmed device after a cold start will really perform an ID check. And there you seem to have the wrong ID.
I think I didn't explain my problem clearly.
It's obvious that empty device accepts every code, but my device accepts incorrect ID code AFTER executing a few erase and program cycles. Even cold start doesn't change this situation.
I'm evaluating my software so I need to program flash many times. When I execute ~12-15 erase/program cycles the device doesn' accept any ID code although I send a correct one.
Anyway thaks fort the response.
I wonder if anyone has met a similar problem?
Tom
